My name is Hannah Overeem, the girl behind the camera. I am a 23 year old traveling photographer based out of Southern California! In college I studied 4 years of commercial photography, but know I had a passion for creating and capturing moments into memories. Growing up I always asked for a disposable camera to take photos and the passion I had never faded! I have been a professional photographer for the past 6 1/2 years and look forward to many more! I have been published in the Corona Del Mar Magazine, won awards from GoPro and have had 2 of my images published by National Geographic, and was recognized by Nikon USA as one of the top 100 up and coming Nikon photographers.
Along side my passion for photography I always found myself outside with my dogs eager to explore the world from the time I was little. Any chance I get I'm hitting the road with my pups to discover, be inspired, and capture special moments in a unique and creative way, whether I'm hiking, kayaking, or simply out for a long scenic drive. Traveling to some of the world's most breathtaking places has also made me realize that the small things and details of life are whats important and I do my best to see those details with each frame I shoot. I have learned to stop and relax and really absorb whats around me. My goal is to inspire others with my work, but also make a difference and bring awareness to things that might get over looked.
I have also developed a love for film photography, and prefer to shoot with film, however my couples and weddings are shot on digital (I do shoot film upon request). It is such a raw and unpredictable format that forces you to be incredibly observant and selective of what you decide to shoot which has made me focus and train myself to recognize frame worthy moments. Film has taught me to see everything in slow motion allowing me to absorb rather then take the shot and move on.
Thanks for visiting!
