How cute are these two!?! I used to work with Aidan back in college and had the pleasure of meeting his girlfriend Anika last year on assignment for a company while Aidan was modeling for me. Both of them are so sweet!
One thing I love about photographing couples is seeing the raw connection and love that people have for one another, and Kinsey and Corey are so neat to watch interact with one another, but with others as well.
More recently my shoots have been for engagements, weddings, and couples and less about pets. While I love shooting pets I am beginning to develop a love for couple and wedding photography. Here is an engagement shoot from the end of last year.
I often get asked via Instagram how to photograph in different environments or weather conditions, so I thought I would write a few blogs of the different things I have experienced when photographing different landscapes, people, or pets in various weather conditions and environments. Since it recently snowed in Southern California, I thought I would start there.
At the end of the year of 2017 I was given a very old film camera by my grandfather. He had originally gotten it for my father back when he was in high school out in Huntington Beach and was taking a photography class.
Day 6 of our road trip was "part one" of our time at Lake Powell. We camped at Lone Rock Beach which I was extremely nervous about due to the fact that you have to drive on very soft sand (which I had never done before). We showed up and made it to where we decided to set up camp without getting stuck thankfully.
One of my favorite shoots I have done was with these adorable Pit Bull sisters, Diamond and Stardust. Not only was the weather and lighting perfect that day, but these girls were great at modeling and are so much fun to hang out with!!
As a pet photographer I am always getting dirty, surrounded by slobber, fur, dirt, mud, water, you name it Iv'e encountered it. Most of my fellow photographer friends are amazing at capturing weddings, and other human portraits, but I am the only one that photographs pets.
One of the first things I ask when having a consultation with my pet photography clients is whether or not their dog is toy or treat motivated or both. This allows me to plan how I will go about getting their dog's attention and making it as fun as possible for them.
Duke is a beautiful Rottweiler Doberman mix that I got to meet and photograph for a beach photoshoot. Not only is he handsome, but he has the personality to match! He's very sweet and loves his ball! His owner is also amazing!
