Spring Hikes & Goodies

Since the rain has come everything in Southern California has turned a luscious green and flowers are slowly beginning to appear. The weather is also finally starting to warm up so I took advantage of it, grabbed my camera and the dogs and headed out to a local hiking trail. We hiked Pumpkin Rock located in Norco. It is a great little hike that provides a nice work out and a view of the city from the top. Because of the rain, the once brown hills were covered in tall green grass and large sections of yellow and purple flowers, and with a warm breeze it began to feel like spring. This is a great hiking trail that is a dirt path and has a variety views. You are essentially walking through rolling hills so be prepared for incline and a nice leg workout! There is not much shade on the hike so I would recommend doing it in cooler weather and going early as it can be a very popular trail. While out on the trail I like to give the pups treats, not only for training, pleasure, and motivation when asking them to pose for pictures, but also to keep up their energy. I haven't been able to find a treat or protein bars for dogs that give them an extra energy boost while out on long strenuous hikes, which we do more times than not. Well we finally found one! We had the opportunity to try OrganiK-9 Treat Bars. They are organic bars that come in 2 flavors (Apple, and Coconut) that are made with all raw natural ingredient, have no GMOs, and humans can also eat them (I tired them and loved them too!). The dogs loved every bit of them and had plenty of energy to finish up the hike! To see more adventures of the pups and I check out our Instagrams!
