Backpacking in the Eastern Sierras

This past weekend I along with four other friends went up and backpacked in the Eastern Sierra‘s for three days. This team and I are getting ready to go to Nepal next month for two weeks. Our team will visit children/families that our church supports through their local global partners, and experience a worship service that Christians from all over the region travel for days at a time to attend. We will encounter and encourage believers, share a message, and hike through the Himalayas to make this happen. To get ourselves ready for this trip as part of our training we took this backpacking trip to get us physically ready for the challenges we’ll face when hiking in the Himalayas. While on this backpacking trip we encountered a coyote, lots of squirrels, and an unexpected snowstorm. With 15 miles, and 11,000 ft elevation we had lots of laughs and great memories.
